ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Cardiac Telemetry (Day Shift) in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

Shifts are 12 hours from 07:00 to 19:30 or 19:00 to 07:30, with self-scheduling allowed. There is a every other weekend requirement for travelers.

Job Description

This position is in a 43-bed cardiac telemetry unit which includes both semi-private and private rooms. The unit provides care for patients post-heart catheterization, those waiting for CABG consult, and individuals with CHF and COPD. Nurses are responsible for medications, including titration of Heparin, and will monitor arrhythmias among the patient population. RN's are expected to perform their own admissions and discharges and will have support from a unit clerk and patient care technicians.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips.
• Manage patients post-heart catheterization and those requiring medical management.
• Titrate Heparin and occasionally Lasix or Bumex as required.
• Perform admissions and discharges independently.
• Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment with high admission and discharge rates.

Required Experience

• Experience in telemetry nursing, specifically with cardiac patients.
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Active RN license.
