12-hour shifts from 1845 to 0715. Weekend shifts required - 5-6 over a 6-week scheduling period.
Job Description
This role is within a fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit that monitors patients with various cardiac conditions, including congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and those undergoing pacemaker or ICD implantations as well as pre/post cardiac catheterization care. The unit utilizes cardiac drips (such as dobutamine, amiodarone, and diltiazem) and performs sheath pulls and TR band applications. Documentation and medication management will be done using the EPIC system.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage cardiac patients on telemetry.
- Administer cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration.
- Perform periodic checks and assess patient progress on assigned patients.
- Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed.
- Float to other units as required based on staffing needs.
Required Experience
- 2 years of experience in cardiac telemetry, PCU, IMC, or step-down.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Strong experience in managing telemetry patients required.
Certifications/Licensure
- ACLS certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- NIHSS certification required.
- Current North Carolina or compact state RN license required.
