Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist will provide comprehensive patient care in the respiratory therapy department, assisting in adult critical care and emergency procedures. The role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and delivering care according to established protocols while utilizing the Epic charting system.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory assessments and interventions on patients of all age groups, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
• Assist in intubation and extubation procedures, as well as manage tracheostomy care.
• Administer therapies and manage ventilators, including troubleshooting high-pressure alarms.
• Collect sputum specimens and facilitate the weaning process from mechanical ventilation.
• Document patient interactions and treatment efficacy in the Epic system.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Travel experience required.

Certifications/Licensure

• New York State Respiratory Therapy License (required at the time of submission).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Completion of Relias EKG exam required 72 hours after signing.
