Job Description

This position provides patient care of a technical nature in a busy, fast-paced environment, serving a Level 2 trauma center with a focus on general surgery. The Surgical Technician is responsible for supplying the operating room with the proper equipment and instrumentation needed for specific surgeries, maintaining the sterility of the surgical field, and anticipating the needs of the surgeons during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments and sterile supplies.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and maintaining the sterile environment.
• Perform duties such as sponge/suction, holding retractors, and applying electrocautery.
• Manage post-procedure care of instruments and equipment.
• Assist in room turnover to optimize customer service to the surgical team.

Required Experience

2 years of experience in the Operating Room, particularly in Trauma, and prior travel experience.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS certification by the American Heart Association standards is required.
• No licensure is required.
