Job Description

The Registered Nurse is accountable for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning for the safe delivery of care for patients in the Emergency Department. The RN maintains clinical competencies through continuing education, delegates patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff, and provides direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in emergency situations.
• Supervise and direct nursing staff in the delivery of patient care.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain clinical competencies.

Required Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.

Certifications / Licensure

• Current Arizona RN License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
