Schedule / Shift

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM on Saturdays and 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM on Sundays (24 hours guaranteed).

Job Description

The Medical Lab Scientist position is available at the Taylorsville Emergency Room Lab. Responsibilities include performing point-of-care testing and supporting lab operations through clerical duties as assigned by Nursing and the Lab Director. Candidates will work primarily independently but will interact with clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Daily maintenance, quality control, and calibration of analyzers.
• Patient testing, including waived and non-waived tests.
• Specimen processing, test ordering, and preparing specimens for transport.
• Stalking lab supplies and routine cleaning of lab surfaces.

Required Experience

At least 2 years of experience working in a hospital laboratory environment as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS).

Certifications / Licensure

Must have a full Medical Lab Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Technologist (MT) certification through ASCP or an equivalent certification.
