Friday to Sunday, 8 AM - 8:30 PM (Three 12-hour shifts with no on-call responsibilities)

Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, Clinical Specialist, Manager, and Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a fast-paced, Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. The CT Technologist utilizes their specific modality to create diagnostic images and provide patients with a safe and positive experience. Technologists support teaching and continue learning as technology evolves, performing CT exams on outpatients, inpatients (both stable and those receiving intensive care), research patients, and those requiring specialized CT scan-guided procedures. They practice and enforce radiation safety measures according to New York State Department of Health code part 16.

Required Experience

• Entry level: Limited or no experience; MIT level assigned based on skillset and experience.

Certifications / Licensure

• Must be a graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School.
• High school graduate (high school + 1).
• New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or possession of a limited permit to practice in New York State.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
