Rotating Day/Night shifts, 3x12 (07:00-19:00 / 19:30-07:30); scheduling dependent on department needs.

Job Description

The Main Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is a 28-bay unit providing specialized peri-anesthesia care to patients across the lifespan. This team offers vigilant pre and post-operative care for inpatients and outpatients undergoing surgeries from various specialties. Nurses in this unit must demonstrate versatility by providing care for a multitude of surgical and medical needs while ensuring high-quality clinical experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and monitoring for patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Administer medications and perform procedures as needed.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient recovery.
• Manage airway care, including ventilated patients and titration of vasopressors.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address patient needs.
• Educate patients and families on postoperative care and recovery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required; PACU experience preferred.
• Active RN license in Maryland or Compact State.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Experience with charting systems, preferably Epic.
