Infection Preventionist - Day Shift

This is a long-term contract position lasting until May 2027.

Day shift, Monday to Friday, with no weekends or holidays.

Job Description

The Infection Preventionist will work independently to implement and maintain infection prevention and control measures in an acute care hospital setting. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating infection risks, as well as educating medical staff and patients about best practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage infection prevention and control programs.
• Conduct surveillance of healthcare-associated infections.
• Educate staff on infection prevention policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to promote best practices.
• Analyze infection data and trends to inform improvement strategies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of infection prevention experience.
• CIC certification required.
• Experience in acute care settings.
• Experience with the Epic charting system is highly preferred.
• Degree in Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or a related health science field.
