Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for reviewing patient history and physician's orders, as well as educating patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. The technologist will prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications as ordered, monitor patient condition continually, and respond to any changes in status as appropriate. This position also involves preparing equipment and supplies, implementing safety standards, performing quality control procedures, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, positioning patients, and conducting imaging procedures. The technologist will analyze imaging results and identify quality issues, taking necessary actions to resolve them.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician's orders.
• Educate patients on procedures, equipment, and exams.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications.
• Continually monitor patient condition and respond to changes.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
• Implement safety standards and quality control procedures.
• Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions.
• Position patients for imaging procedures and perform scans.
• Analyze and report imaging results, addressing quality issues as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate degree in radiologic technology; completion of a CT technology certificate program preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Radiology & CT.
• ARRT certification in Radiography (RD) & Computed Tomography (CT) required.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Ability to float between X-ray and CT departments as needed.
