Job Description

The NICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized nursing care for critically ill infants, working in a collaborative environment with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care is delivered.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess the health and progress of infants, including those requiring ventilator support and CPAP.
• Provide breastfeeding support and education to families.
• Administer medications and treatments, including surfactant administration and TPN.
• Perform advanced procedures such as intubation, umbilical line placement, and chest tube insertion.
• Utilize appropriate documentation systems for patient care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital-specific protocols and guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Certification in BLS and NRP.
• Experience in the NICU setting preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• Proficient in IV insertion in preterm or term infants.
