Registered Nurse - Critical Care

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend coverage is required.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Critical Care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing ventilated patients and tracheostomy care. This role includes responsibilities in an acute care hospital setting, requiring flexibility to float between like units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, ensuring high standards of nursing practice.
• Monitor and manage ventilated patients, ensuring optimal respiratory function.
• Conduct tracheostomy care and management, assessing changes in condition and responding appropriately.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and established protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient status and care activities accurately in the charting system.
• Participate in patient and family education, promoting understanding of treatment and care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in critical care or similar environments.
• Current RN license (compact license must be in hand upon submission).
• Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with ventilated patients and tracheostomy management is mandatory.
