Registered Nurse - Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)

Schedule

This position requires a night shift, encompassing 3 shifts of 12 hours each, from 19:00 to 07:30.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong critical-thinking skills, adaptability to available resources, and a well-rounded clinical approach to various nursing responsibilities. Ensure proficiency in telemetry as you will be required to complete a telemetry test during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess maternal and fetal health during labor and delivery.
• Provide comprehensive care in the postpartum period.
• Perform triage of obstetrical patients and manage EFM (External Fetal Monitoring).
• Administer medications and manage IVs, including insulin drips.
• Assist with surgical procedures, including C-sections.
• Conduct newborn assessments and care for infants.
• Educate parents on newborn care, including breastfeeding support.
• Implement isolation precautions and maintain safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Current NY State RN License in hand prior to submission.
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate.
• Previous experience with telemetry interpretation is required.
