Trauma Nurse Lead - Emergency Department

Shifts are from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including nights and weekends.

Job Description

The Trauma Nurse Lead plays a vital role in the emergency department, focusing on the initial management of trauma patients during primary and secondary surveys. This position requires advanced skills in trauma nursing and critical care, along with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage trauma care and support the emergency nursing team in providing high-quality patient care.
• Utilize advanced equipment including Level 1 rapid infuser, EKG, and Hamilton vent.
• Perform critical procedures such as IV placement, spinal stabilization, and assisting with chest tube procedures.
• Lead a team in managing high-acuity trauma cases effectively.
• Facilitate communication among team members to ensure comprehensive patient assessments and interventions.

Required Experience / Certifications

• Current certifications: TNCC, ENPC, ACLS, BLS, PALS.
• Minimum of two years of experience in emergency department nursing or one year in trauma nursing.
• Strong IV skills and experience with managing mass transfusions.
