Registered Nurse - Postpartum

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3 × 12 hour shifts, totaling 36 hours per week (12 hours per shift).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will work in the Postpartum unit providing care for patients following childbirth. Responsibilities will include managing care for those with complications such as postpartum hemorrhage, hypertension, and gestational diabetes. The nurse will also be responsible for newborn care, including phototherapy and lab work, as well as post-operative care for C-Section and Tubal Ligation patients. Couplet care is also a significant aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and blood/blood products as necessary.
• Monitor and manage postpartum complications.
• Provide care to well newborns and educate parents on newborn care.
• Document patient information and maintain accurate medical records.
• Collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN License in the state of practice.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
• Previous experience in a postpartum or maternal-child nursing role is preferred.
