Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed, supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
• Identify patient education needs and goals related to diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, prioritizing education for patients and their families.
• Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission and begin patient teaching related to their discharge needs.
• Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel while effectively managing time and resources.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in alignment with hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in team-building activities to enhance unit function and morale.
• Assume charge responsibility as required after orientation.
• Actively pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (for specific units).
• Minimum of two years' bedside clinical experience required.
• Experience in PCU/Critical Care or Step-Down preferred.

Schedule

This position requires a day shift schedule with a 3x12.0-hour shift structure.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
