Medical Surgical Registered Nurse - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 7:30 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour nights, with a 36-hour guarantee.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will coordinate total nursing care for patients, provide leadership, and participate in patient and family teaching. This position may involve working as a backup Charge Nurse and requires the ability to float to various units within the scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on a medical-surgical unit.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding health management and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with ancillary nursing and patient team personnel to maintain professional nursing standards.
• Perform duties as a Charge Nurse when requested.
• Manage patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years recent Med Surg Rehab experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience (minimum 3 months).
• Charge RN experience is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Active Vermont RN License or Compact license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Must have reliable transportation, as public transport is not available.
