Registered Nurse - Preoperative Care

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position, offering flexibility with 3 12-hour shifts or 4 10-hour shifts per week. Occasional midnight shifts may be required to support operational demands. Participation in the weekend rotation and on-call schedule is required, including one weekend scheduled shift and one secondary call day per scheduling period.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will work in a preoperative area, providing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Responsibilities include preparing patients for surgery, monitoring their health status, and providing post-operative care as needed. The role requires scrubbing for procedures and knowledge of surgical care, including robotics and IV skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative care and support to patients.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any changes.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy as needed.
• Scrub in for surgical procedures as required.
• Participate in the on-call and weekend rotation, ensuring adequate coverage.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification is required.
• IV skills and knowledge of surgical care.
• Experience working in a preoperative or surgical setting preferred.
• Current RN license is mandatory for submission.
