CT Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 5 days a week, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. On-call is required.

Job Description

The CT Technologist is responsible for preparing patients for diagnostic procedures, explaining scans, positioning patients to capture appropriate images, and operating equipment to produce cross-sectional images of bones, organs, and tissues.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required paperwork and requisitions for ordered exams in a timely manner.
• Schedule all exams promptly and perform diagnostic Radiographic/Fluoroscopic C-arm exams on patients in the department and with portable equipment.
• Utilize IV contrast media injection as needed and perform a variety of examinations, reconstructions, and printing protocols as per the Radiologist's instructions.
• Identify mechanical and electronic equipment failures to diagnose problems with radiographic machines and processors.
• Explain procedures to patients and address any questions regarding the equipment or procedure.
• Properly move and transport patients to and from the department as required.
• Order necessary supplies and maintain par levels.
• Treat all patients, guests, coworkers, and physicians with courtesy and respect regardless of cultural/ethnic background, gender, orientation, or age.
• Attend required in-services and orientations, working closely with floor staff to facilitate excellent patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
• CT Certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Medical Imaging field (not including education) is required.
• Experience operating facility-specific equipment (Philips) is required.
