Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in a team-oriented environment. The unit comprises 35 beds and is staffed by a diverse team, ensuring quality patient care 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to laboring patients, maintaining a patient ratio of 1:1/2:1.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions using advanced electronic fetal monitoring.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to unit protocols.
• Assist with procedures including vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
• Participate in the recovery of patients in PACU with a 2:1 patient ratio.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including anesthesiologists, neonatal staff, and hospitalists.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license to practice in Texas.
• Certification in AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring.
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required.
• Experience in OR circulation for cesarean sections, placement of FSE and IUPC is preferred.
