PICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule

This position requires a schedule of 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with 36 hours scheduled and 24 hours guaranteed. Weekend and holiday shifts are as per department guidelines.

Job Description

The PICU Registered Nurse (RN) will provide specialized care to critically ill children in the pediatric intensive care unit. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patient conditions, managing care plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions continuously, addressing changes proactively.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and nursing interventions.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and care protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 24 months of recent PICU experience within the last 12 months.
• Current active RN license in the state of Arizona with no restrictions.
• Life support certifications including BLS and PALS from AHA, ARC, or ASHI.
• Driver's license to verify residency.
• Travel nursing experience is highly preferred.
