Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 16-week contract position.

Schedule

Rotating night and evening shifts, with primary need for night shift. Options include 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, with hours from 19:00 to 07:30 or 15:00 to 03:30. Every other weekend is required.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patients across all age ranges, from infants to geriatrics, while performing critical assessments and procedures typical of the emergency department setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients in the emergency department.
• Administer medications and treatments as needed.
• Manage patient care for various conditions, including complex diagnoses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment while adhering to hospital policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Nursing.
• Current RN license in Maryland or a compact state.
• BLS, ACLS, CPI, PALS, NIHSS certifications required.
• NRP and TNCC certifications preferred.
• Experience with patients of diverse age groups and varying acuity levels.
• Proficiency in using Epic electronic health record system.
