Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry

This is a 13-week contract position. Shift hours are 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a 36-hour guarantee per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of assigned patients. The RN will adhere to health system policies and procedures while exercising critical thinking skills to address patient needs and changes in status.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and evaluating patient conditions using age-specific criteria.
• Administering and titrating cardiac medications including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine.
• Monitoring telemetry and heart rhythms.
• Recognizing signs and symptoms of stroke and providing appropriate interventions.
• Teaching and directing non-RN staff such as LPNs and PCTs.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License.
• Current certification in American Heart Association BLS and ACLS.
• NIHSS Certification required.
• Must demonstrate strong communication and critical thinking skills.
• Competency with telemetry and cardiac monitoring is essential.
