Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing various patient exam activities in nuclear medicine, producing high-quality images in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Specializes in performing diagnostic studies in nuclear medicine imaging.
• Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns to ensure comfort and confidence.
• Operates and maintains all assigned nuclear scanning imaging equipment.
• Performs diagnostic studies and prepares concentrations of radioactive isotopes for imaging.
• Administers medications/substances within the technologist's scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Completes quality assurance processes and ensures adherence to radiation safety protocols.
• Maintains accurate documentation in both paper and electronic formats.
• Ensures an adequate supply of consumables for quality testing.
• Conducts routine maintenance and function checks on all imaging equipment.
• May assist other areas of radiology as directed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduation from an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine.
• Registered in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or NMTCB.
• BLS certification required.
