Radiation Therapist

This position operates on a 5-day, 8-hour schedule from 08:00 to 17:00.

Job Description

The Radiation Therapist will perform radiation therapy and radiographic procedures involving the application of X-rays and radioactive substances to patients. The therapist will operate specialized X-ray equipment as prescribed by the physician, maintain treatment records, and prepare operational reports as required. Additionally, the therapist will ensure quality patient care in relation to the patient's prescribed diagnosis, treatment, and other identified needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiation therapy and radiographic procedures as prescribed.
• Operate specialized X-ray equipment.
• Maintain and store treatment records and prepare operational reports.
• Provide quality patient care based on the patient's prescribed treatment and individual needs.
• Responsible for the performance of all duties related to the administration of radiation therapy.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate Degree in a related field.
• MRT License in the state of employment.
• RRT License in the state of employment.
• BLS certification via the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Experience with TrueBeam machine and Aria/Varian systems is required.
• Specialized procedure experience in SPRT, SRS, IGRT, and IMRT is preferred.
• Two to five years of clinical experience in radiation therapy is preferred.
• IMRT and LDR/HDR experience preferred.
