Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Mother Baby Unit is responsible for delivering high-quality care to women of childbearing age and their newborns. The nurse will assess and address various risk factors, provide discharge education, and ensure the safe and effective management of patients in the postpartum phase.

Responsibilities

• Care for postpartum women and newborns, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Assess and identify risk factors related to postpartum complications.
• Provide education on discharge instructions and post-delivery care.
• Manage pain and prioritize patient care based on individual needs.
• Utilize AIDET and BSSR methodologies in patient interactions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
• Ability to recognize unit workflow, policies, and procedures specific to the postpartum unit.
