Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse

This position is scheduled from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, guaranteeing 40 hours per week.

Job Description

This position involves caring for patients before, during, and after angiography and interventional procedures, including cardiac catheterization and other diagnostic tests. Responsibilities include pre-procedure assessments, documentation, post-procedure care, patient education, and procedure assistance as part of a cardiac catheterization laboratory team.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care for cardiovascular patients, conducting cardiac diagnostic nursing procedures as per department protocol.
• Assist in various cardiac diagnostic procedures, including stress echocardiograms and pacemaker interrogations.
• Evaluate patients for safety and provide sedation monitoring while documenting all necessary information.
• Scrub in for procedures with the physician and assist with interventional radiology prep, procedures, and recovery.
• Manage equipment and supplies related to cardiac procedures and patient care.
• Develop and enhance cardiovascular education materials for patients and families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Cath Lab RN experience is required.
• Experience with Maclab (hemodynamics), basic knowledge of IR vascular, and experience with Impella are required.
• Knowledge of the operation of intraaortic balloon pumps is required.
• Current Michigan RN license is required.
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Epic EMR experience is required and travel work experience is preferred.
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years are required.
• Skills checklist current to one year, pertinent to the specialty, is required.
