Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift, 13-Week Contract

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is implemented effectively. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, playing a pivotal role in patient safety and care quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and develop goals in collaboration with patients and their families, as well as the interdisciplinary team.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in medical records.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Maintain a safe environment according to all hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit function through teamwork and effective communication.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested, prioritizing activities to meet patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license is required.
• BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific to certain facilities).
• Minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience preferred.
• Critical Care experience is strongly desired.

Schedule

This position offers night shifts, working 48 hours per week over a 13-week contract period.
