Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with every other weekend required.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neuro Spine Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit. The RN will provide high-quality care to patients with post-operative neuro/spinal surgeries, level 2 trauma patients, and taking care of general medical-surgical conditions. This position requires expert neuro assessments and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform neuro assessments and manage post-surgical care for patients.
• Administer medications and IV treatments as necessary.
• Manage drains and chest tubes, as well as groin site care post-IR.
• Provide care for stroke patients and those with conditions such as DKA and renal failure.
• Float to other med-surg or telemetry units as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN licensure in Indiana.
• ACLS and BLS certifications; BLS and NIHSS can be obtained during the first week of orientation.
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar medical-surgical or telemetry environment.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
• Ability to work with higher-acuity patients and demonstrate critical thinking.
