Registered Nurse - Surgical Observation Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 16-week contract position.

Schedule

NIGHTS - 12HR: 7P-7A. 36 hours per week available. 1 weekend shift per week or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend. Must work at least 1 holiday per contract.

Job Description

The Surgical Observation Unit cares for postoperative patients across various specialties including orthopedic, urology, ENT, and general surgery. The RN provides direct patient care, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and promotes safe, evidence-based nursing practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to postoperative patients.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Promote safe and evidence-based nursing practices within the unit.
• Be flexible and willing to float to other units as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of acute hospital experience with at least 1 recent year in surgical observation or related specialty.
• Active New York RN license.
• AHA BLS certification.
• 2 years of U.S. work experience required for non-U.S. candidates.
