Travel Ultrasound Technician

Schedule

Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM with call typically 1-2 times a week.

Job Description

The Ultrasound Technician will be responsible for providing timely diagnostic ultrasound services to both inpatients and outpatients under the direction of a Radiologist and in accordance with departmental protocols. This role involves performing various imaging procedures including abdominal, pelvic (gynecological & obstetrical), and transvaginal sonograms, as well as scanning small parts (thyroid, breast, and scrotum). Additionally, the technician will conduct ultrasound-guided biopsies, drainage procedures, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret ultrasound examinations under Radiologist supervision.
• Ensure adherence to departmental protocols and standards in imaging practices.
• Manage ultrasound equipment and maintain accurate records of patient histories and procedures.
• Provide excellent patient care and communication throughout the imaging process.
• Collaborate with medical staff to optimize patient outcomes during ultrasound procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Ultrasound certification from an accredited program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in diagnostic ultrasound.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
• State licensure as a general radiographer preferred.
