Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift 3x12

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through patient/family collaboration and interdisciplinary team discussions.
• Provide timely patient information for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences, ensuring accurate documentation of all assessments and interventions.
• Deliver direct patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating, prioritizing patient/family education.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and commence patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety across healthcare providers.
• Oversee the training and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately and offering direction.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute to a positive unit environment through effective communication and teamwork.
• Assume charge responsibility as required and participate in professional development through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
• Critical care experience is required.

This position entails working a Day shift with a 3x12 schedule format.
