Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient in collaboration with patient/family and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, ensuring the delivery of direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from day of admission and commence patient teaching for anticipated discharge dates.
• Communicate pertinent patient status changes to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel while effectively organizing and prioritizing tasks.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following the orientation period.
• Pursue professional growth and development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience.
• ICU experience preferred.

Schedule

This position is for the night shift, following a 3x12 hour schedule.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
