Job Description
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will coordinate and implement individualized plans of care for patients utilizing the nursing process. Your practice will adhere to the standards, policies, and mission of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on assessments to optimize outcomes and maximize resources.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality outcomes.
- Identify and address barriers to effective communication for patients and families.
- Evaluate learning needs and provide appropriate education to patients and families.
- Delegate patient care tasks effectively to ancillary personnel.
- Demonstrate caring attitudes to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current and active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (to be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (to be obtained within six months of hire).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification (to be obtained within one year of hire).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification (to be obtained within one year of hire).
- STABLE certification (to be obtained within one year of hire).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (to be obtained within one year of hire).
- Two years of hospital nursing experience is preferred; one year of Emergency Department or Critical Care nursing experience is also preferred.
