Occupational Therapist Assistant

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist Assistant will utilize evidence-based practices to provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. This role is essential for supporting patient recovery and improving quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Administer various rehabilitation procedures as part of patient treatment plans including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, and the use of assistive devices.
• Assess patient progress and collaborate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to modify treatment plans as required.
• Document all treatment and progress in the electronic documentation system in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding cognitive and physical disorders.
• Participate in care conferences, utilization review meetings, and other required training and in-services.
• Support and supervise students under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with an 8-hour day shift schedule.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings.
• Valid COTA license required.
