Registered Nurse - Step-Down MedSurg Unit

Schedule

6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every other weekend, no call, assist with holidays.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Step-Down MedSurg unit. This unit is integral to patient flow, specializing in receiving direct admissions from the Emergency Department (ED) and initiating acute care orders. Our focus on patient safety and care is paramount, aiming to reduce overall length of stay while enhancing the patient and family experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Admission Assessments and Medication Reconciliation.
• Provide direct patient care with a ratio of 1:5 for Step-Down, 1:6 for MedSurg.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to other units within skill set as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two years of recent MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) level nursing experience preferred.
• Must possess a positive attitude and focus on teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to step into that role is appreciated.
