Registered Nurse - ICU (D/N Variable Schedule)

All contracts must run into February, no exceptions. Shifts are variable scheduled: 7a - 7p / 7p - 7a, 3x12s.

Job Description

The ICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients in critical condition. The nurse must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities while working in a team-oriented environment. The role involves assessing patient conditions, implementing appropriate interventions, and communicating effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU setting, ensuring safety and adherence to established protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and care procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Currently licensed by NYS as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
• Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire; CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and TNCC within 2 years of hire.
