Occupational Therapist

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with lunch from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Flexibility in working hours may occur, and Saturday availability is required.

Job Description

The Rehabilitation Services department provides a comprehensive array of services, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. The Occupational Therapist (OT) will evaluate and treat individuals with injuries, disabilities, or emotional challenges to enhance, maintain, or restore their functional capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and assessments of patients' functional capabilities and treatment needs.
• Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on physician referrals.
• Provide direct patient treatment focusing on Activities of Daily Living (ADL), strength, range of motion, and function.
• Consult and collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive rehabilitative care.
• Document all services rendered, maintaining accurate treatment records.
• Coordinate discharge follow-up with community agencies as needed.
• Act as an advisor for activity programs, guiding staff in planning and conducting therapeutic activities.
• Participate in departmental and hospital-wide meetings, committees, and professional development activities.
• Assist in departmental administration, budgeting, and resource allocation for operational objectives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Hawaii.
• Relevant experience in occupational therapy practices and patient care.
• Commitment to professional development through continuing education and training.
