Schedule / Shift

12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Must be available to work every other weekend and at least 2 of the 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day).

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Telemetry unit is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. As a critical access hospital with a focus on patient-centered care, our RN staff work with a diverse patient population, including medical-surgical telemetry patients, orthopedic, urology, ENT, GYN, and general surgical cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a telemetry setting.
• Monitor and assess patient condition, responding to changes promptly.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Perform unit-specific procedures including starting IVs, performing EKGs, and patient transports.
• Participate in rapid response teams and code situations as necessary.
• Document care in the EPIC system and manage medications through the PYXIS system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Medical Surgical Telemetry is required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to start.
• EPIC experience from within the last 2 years is a must.
• Progressive care experience is preferred.
