Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours per week; 2 weekends required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing compassionate and attentive care to patients and their families in the Trauma Med/Surg unit. This role requires strong multitasking abilities, prioritization of care, and the capability to engage in effective bedside shift reporting. Nurses will make personal connections with patients, including them and their families in care planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 34-bed unit with a patient ratio of 6:1.
• Administer medications and perform basic nursing procedures including IV starts, wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment including telemetry, IV pumps, and EKG machines.
• Document patient care activities and progress using the Meditech documentation system.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in the state of Tennessee.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous Med/Surg experience is preferred.
