Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. The nurse will be responsible for providing care in various settings including Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn care. A strong focus will be placed on supporting patients during labor and delivery, as well as providing care before and after childbirth.

Responsibilities

• Float as required between various units and facilities as needed.
• Conduct patient assessments and triage obstetrical patients effectively.
• Administer medications including blood products, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy.
• Provide high-risk delivery assistance and recovery from C-section procedures.
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and initiate IV therapy.
• Utilize equipment such as PCA pumps and intrauterine pressure catheters.
• Maintain accurate patient records and chart using the Epic system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in LDRP, L&D, PP, and Newborn Care.
• Current compact RN license required.
• Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP, ACLS preferred.
• Previous charge experience is beneficial.

Schedule

This position requires night shifts with a schedule of four 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
