Job Description

The Ultrasound Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures and provide support for other imaging technologists as needed. This role includes facilitating smooth and efficient patient flow and handling the movement, set-up, and operation of medical ultrasound equipment. Technologists must demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations and procedures to assist in patient throughput.
• Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care as deemed appropriate by regulatory entities.
• Adhere to and maintain expected imaging competencies as outlined by management.
• Participate in continuous education, safety, and technical advancements within the scope of licensure.
• Troubleshoot basic maintenance and report any equipment malfunction promptly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or other accepted equivalent.
• State licensure is required if in New Mexico.
• Certification in one of the following: Sonography (S) by ARRT, Abdomen (AB) RDMS by ARDMS, or Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) RDMS by ARDMS.
• Preferred certifications: Vascular Sonography (VS) by ARRT, Breast Sonography (BS) by ARRT, Breast (BR) RDMS by ARDMS, Adult Echocardiography (AE) RDCS by ARDMS, Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS.
• BLS certification via AHA is required.
