Registered Nurse - Stepdown/MedSurg Unit

This position requires weekend night shifts, working 7 PM to 7:30 AM, either every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Job Description

Join our dynamic Stepdown/MedSurg Unit, accommodating a diverse patient population with primarily medical diagnoses. This flex unit serves both floor and step-down patients based on hospital needs and has a capacity of 29 beds. The unit is currently under construction, with an expected opening in the first quarter of 2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with step down and medical needs
• Manage a patient load of 6:1 for med-surg and 3:1 for stepdown
• Titrate drips based on physician orders (e.g., Heparin, Insulin, Pain management)
• Utilize EPIC for charting and patient management
• Collaborate with nurse aids to ensure optimal patient care and support
• Monitor patients using Phillips telemetry equipment in a remote surveillance center

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Must have EPIC experience
• Experience in stepdown or med-surg nursing preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply
