Registered Nurse - Surgical Med Surg Unit

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care in a medical-surgical unit with a focus on surgical orthopedic, neurosurgery, general surgery, and urology. The nurse will be responsible for managing patient care and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal health outcomes for a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions post-surgery.
• Effectively manage peripheral and central lines as well as IV administration.
• Provide wound care and manage surgical drains.
• Facilitate patient education regarding post-operative care and lifestyle changes.
• Utilize telemetry for monitoring patient vital signs and rhythms.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active PA or Compact nursing license is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical-surgical or surgical nursing environment.
• Preferred experience with Cerner charting system.
• AHA BLS certification required.
