PACU Registered Nurse (RN) - Alaska

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts are 3x12 hours, with variable start times: 0700-1900, 0800-2000, 0900-2100, 1000-2200, and 1100-2300.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PACU Registered Nurse to join our team in Alaska. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit, specializing in the recovery of patients after surgical procedures. This role requires excellent clinical skills, experience in PACU, and the ability to work on-call. Candidates must hold an active Alaska RN license for employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient condition in the PACU.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy.
• Provide post-operative care and support for patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Handle patient education and provide emotional support to families.
• Participate in on-call rotation, responding to call shifts as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience, preferably in PACU.
• Active Alaska RN license required before the start of the assignment.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
