Registered Nurse - Cardiac and Stroke Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 12 Hour Nights, 18:45 - 07:15. Required to work every other weekend and on specific Mondays and Fridays.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our busy Cardiac and Stroke Unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telemetry, pre and post procedure care, and the management of cardiac patients. This unit offers a challenging environment with a dynamic patient turnover rate, requiring nurses who are adaptable and skilled in handling multiple patients effectively.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to cardiac and stroke patients.
• Manage telemetry and administer cardiac drips as needed.
• Provide pre and post procedure care for various cardiac interventions.
• Monitor and assess patients for changes in condition.
• Complete accurate documentation and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist in the admission and discharge processes with the team lead.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a similar high-acuity unit.
• Current RN License (NC or Compact license pending OK for submission).
• ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications required.
• Experience with IV starts, cardiac telemetry, and patient management in high-pressure situations.
