Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Location

Must reside within 75 miles of the facility for travel positions. Local candidates are welcome.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour evening shift from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our team. The ED RN will be responsible for providing care to patients in a fast-paced environment, addressing a variety of medical emergencies including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. The unit consists of 64 beds with a diverse patient demographic, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Administer medications and provide treatments as required.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
• Monitor and document patient conditions using EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
• Manage critical situations, including the use of specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusors and Arctic Sun.
• Float to different areas of the ED as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Emergency Department, including pediatric nursing experience.
• Current RN license in New York with NURSYS license verification.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required.
• Documented travel nursing experience is mandatory.
