Schedule

D/E/N Rotating Shift Schedules, Weekends/Holidays/On-Call/Callback/Charge per Unit Needs. 48 hours/week strongly preferred.

Job Description

The Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) provides family-centered care to patients under the age of 19 experiencing urgent and emergent issues at a Level 1 pediatric trauma and burn center. The department includes 18 general care beds, 1 critical care bed, 4 urgent care beds, and a shared trauma bay with the adult emergency department. Staff are trained to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, managing a complex case mix from treat and release to acute critical care/trauma.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced pediatric emergency environment.
• Manage assessments, interventions, and patient education for pediatric patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of Pediatric Emergency Department experience required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• PALS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• New York State RN License required.
• NIHSS required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Burn care experience highly desirable.
• TNCC, ATCN, or ABLS certifications preferred.
