PCU/Step Down Float RN - Night Shift

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced PCU/Step Down Float Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing patient care across various units in a short-term acute care facility. The nurse will float between units, including but not limited to, patients boarded from the ER, telemetry, and med-surg units.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting changes to the healthcare team.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and manage patient flow.
• Potentially serve as a Charge Nurse in smaller units, overseeing staffing and operational coordination.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, including charge responsibilities.
• Experience in the US healthcare system is required; Canadian experience alone is not applicable.
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications are preferred.
• Valid RN license, preferably a compact license.
• Proficiency with the EPIC charting system.
