Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend is required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide exceptional care in the Emergency Department supporting patients across various age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The RN will work within a busy environment averaging 120 visits per day and will collaborate with a dedicated team across locked behavioral health units while responding to urgent care and critical care needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care in the Emergency Department setting.
• Ensure compliance with safety measures and infection control protocols.
• Provide quick assessments and triage for adults and pediatric patients.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including security for behavioral health unit support.
• Perform advanced life support interventions and critical assessments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experience required; 2 years of experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center may be considered.
• Current Maryland or compact RN license is required upon submission.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS required; CEN preferred.
• 4 hours of annual stroke continuing education required.
